At Esteon we respect your privacy and personal life, but sometimes we will need your personal information. In this statement you can read which information we use and how we store, protect and process this information. This privacy policy applies to our website (the Website) and the services we provide (the Services). We handle your personal information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (the Relevant Legislation)

Under 16 years of age
If you are under 16 years of age, you will require consent from your parents or legal guardian to use our Website and Services.
Personal Information
In order for us to offer our Website and Services, we will process personal information. The term personal information means information which will allow you as a person to be identified. This definition is in accordance with Relevant Legislation.

We may store your information at various moments in time, for example when you visit our Website, create an account on our Website, use our Services, or if you contact us. We may process your information, because we request your consent through this privacy policy. Moreover, we need your information to enable the execution of the agreement between you and us. Which information do we collect and what do we do with it?
To enable you to use our Website and Services, we will need the following information from you:

• A photograph from which you may be identified.
• For optimal use of the search service, the information on income and housing requirements
When you use our Website, we also collect some information about you that is not of a personal nature, such as:

• the operating system you use

In your account we store the following information: password and e-mail address. This way, you will not need to fill in the information again.

As a customer of Esteon you will receive e-mails. This way you will remain informed of the service provision and of any new housing matches. All communication through this channel will include an option to unsubscribe from this service. Please be aware that if you unsubscribe, we will no longer be able to inform you of new housing matches in the future.

We will use your information only for the above purposes or a purpose closely linked to this. This way, your information will never be used unexpectedly.
Our advice and preselection
Based on your information and the housing requirements you submitted, we will render an advice and draw up a preselection of rental homes and rooms. We do this on the basis of an algorithm that compares housing requirements and information with the data of available rental homes and rooms. An advice or a preselection may have for a result that certain rental homes or rooms are not displayed to you. It is important for us to render the advice and make the preselection because this is part of the proper functioning of our service provision. The key here is that as a customer you will benefit from such advice and preselections.
We make every effort to protect your personal information against loss, destruction, use, adjustment or distribution by unauthorised persons. It prevents those who have nothing to do with your information from accessing it. We do this through the following measures:
• Encryption (encoding) of digital files that contain personal information;
• Securing internet connections with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or a comparable technology;
• Limiting access to the information to those persons who require it; and
• NDAs (confidentiality statements for Esteon employees) and back-ups of the information.
Retention period
We will retain your personal information no longer than necessary for the purposes as we described here before. We will never retain your information for more than 5 years.
With whom do we share your personal information?
Processors of information
There are cases when other parties receive your information from us. We conclude a processor agreement with these parties to ensure they handle your information with due care and they will only receive the information required for them to provide their service. These parties use your information only in conformity with our instructions and not for their own purposes. For example, we may submit your information to our payment provider when a payment is made, to the mail provider for the system e-mails or to Freshdesk for support. The processor(s) will ensure payments can be made, e-mails can be sent or support can be provided. These parties are processors within the sense of the Relevant Legislation.

Third parties
Sometimes we share your information with other parties, who are not processors. We agree with these parties that they will handle your information with due care. They will use the information only in conformity with the purpose for which we received the information from you. For example, we may pass on your information to: MailChimp/Mandrill, Freshdesk, MultiSafepay.
Transfer of information
We will process your information only within the European Union. Outside the European Union, we will only process your information if the country in question provides a proper level of protection for your information.

We will never transfer your information to other countries or other parties, other than those referred to here above, without your consent.
